cyberIQ is a grassroots campaign to encourage teenagers to surf the cyber world safely, and to educate parents on the importance of cyber safety. Today’s technology offers so many opportunities for teens to learn, interact and connect. It’s important to have a real conversation with your teen about being safe online.

iTEAMS

Start a trend. Blaze a trail. Fire up your creativity.

Are you a rising 8th or 9th grader in Greenville or Berkeley county? Does computer science, technology or entrepreneurship pique your interest? Does a tech-savvy summer camp where your ideas can grow sound awesome?

If so, sign up now for iTEAMS, the Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship Among Middle Schoolers summer experience!

iTEAMS is a partnership between SC Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics and South Carolina School Districts to offer an enrichment experience to rising 8th and 9th graders in Greenville County. The program inspires students to pursue studies in computer science, engineering, programming and business.

Greenville County Camp
Dates: June 18-21 & 25-28, 2012
Location: Hughes Academy

Berkeley County Camp
Dates: July 9-12 & 16-19, 2012
Location: Berkeley High School  

iTEAMS Quick Facts:

·         Students are selected based on personal essays, teacher recommendations and interest in computer science, technology and entrepreneurship

·         Campers are led by well-qualified math and technology instructors from SC schools

·         GSSM alumni participate as instructors, technical assistants and role models

·         In 2011, nearly 40% of iTEAMS 9th graders enrolled in at least one career and technical education course following participation

·         In 2011, 98% of campers said they planned to pursue a career in a STEM field

AndSAM Summer Android Phone Programming Camp

Calling all rising 9th to 11th graders in the Greenville area!

Want to learn more about Java programming and creating apps for the Android phone? Want to learn more about careers in IT and Computer Science? Then you will want to be a part of AndSAM!

When: July 30 - August 3, Monday thru Friday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Where: Southside High School
Details: Instruction provided by Clemson University. Food & snacks included. Cost is FREE! Must apply to be a part of the camp. Space is limited.
